Reader Review Terms

Effective date: October 27, 2026 · Version 1.0

These terms apply to book reviews submitted through the reader review form on Words Were Chosen, operated by Anorak Group, LLC, Texas. Workplace stories submitted through the separate story form are covered by the Story Submission Terms. The Site's general rules of use still apply to everyone.

1. Public name, private email

Your chosen name, star rating, review title and review text may appear publicly on this Site after moderation. Do not include another person's personal information or any confidential details. Your email address is kept private and used only to handle your review, moderation and related requests. Read the Privacy Policy before submitting.

2. Your review and permission

You must be 18 or older, have read the book, and submit your own honest review. You retain ownership of your review and give Anorak Group permission to display it, with your chosen name and rating, on this Site. This permission applies to reader reviews on the Site; it does not apply the workplace-story submission license to reviews. No payment or publication is promised.

3. Moderation and requests

Reviews are checked for spam, abuse, confidential information and other violations before publication. Positive and critical opinions are welcome. Reviews may be rejected or removed for these reasons, rather than because of their star rating. To request a correction or removal, email permissions@wordswerechosen.com and include your review reference. We may need to verify the request before changing or disclosing information.

4. Amazon review links

Amazon entries in the combined review list are links added by the Site owner to individual reviews on Amazon. This integration does not copy Amazon review text, reviewer names, star ratings or verified-purchase badges, and it does not automatically synchronize with Amazon. Follow the link to see the original content under Amazon's own terms and privacy practices.

5. Ratings and identity

The Site's star average is calculated only from approved ratings submitted directly here. Amazon links are not ratings and do not change that average. The Site does not verify a reviewer's purchase or identity. Submitting a review here does not submit it to Amazon.

6. Contact

For review questions or requests, email permissions@wordswerechosen.com.
